A big part of our charity is the people we serve; we want to make sure that service user’s voices are heard at every level of the organisation and we believe it is a key strength of the Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre that we are led by people living with and affected by MD. The views of our service users are integral to the design and development of our services and support.
Launched in 2021, the MD Support Centre Focus Group is facilitated by our staff to seek input, ideas and direction from current service users and carers.
Our Focus Group members come together to share their ideas and suggestions on matters relating to the ongoing development of our charity – whether that is the introduction of new equipment, the planning and launch of our Satellite Clinics and other new services, or fundraising ideas.
All service users are welcome, and although we do have a scheduled quarterly meeting, it’s fine to drop-in when you can – you don’t have to commit to every meeting. However, if you would like to get more involved, you might want to volunteer to help us to implement one of the ideas that come out of the group! Your participation is what you make of it, and you are very welcome to commit as much or as little time as works for you – we are always excited to hear from and work with service users.
The meetings will take place quarterly and you will find details on both our events webpage and in our bi-monthly e-newsletters.
