MD Support Centre is committed to transforming access to support and vital physical therapies for people with and affected by MD across the Midlands and beyond. On this page we aim to provide information, practical advice and support to physiotherapists and other clinicians treating people with MD. We are keen to share our knowledge built from treating hundreds of service users with MD and offer reassurance to professionals working with the MD community that whatever someone’s abilities, there is always something that can be done to help. But we also want to learn from the experiences of other organisations and professionals – so if you have any feedback, questions or information that you would like to share with us, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at getintouch@mdsupportcentre.org.

Physio Video Project

Immediately prior to the pandemic, MD Support Centre produced written guidance and supporting video material with funding from the Private Physiotherapy Education Foundation (PPEF). A core team of three physiotherapists and a project manager used a mix of qualitative and quantitative research and practice experience to form the guidance and document examples of our approaches to treatment of people with MD.

If you would like a copy of the detailed written guide with clinical reasoning, please email our Clinical Services Manager Taher at Taher.dhuliawala@mdsupportcentre. We would love to know who accesses this material and whether you find it useful, so please encourage any colleagues who you think would be interested to separately email Taher.
