Celebrating the work behind the award

A shared achievement
We are incredibly proud to have been chosen as Not-For-Profit Champion, especially alongside such wonderful organisations doing vital work across our region.
This award is a meaningful recognition not just of what we do as a team, but also of our amazing service user community, who we are privileged to support every day.

A week of recognition
It has been a particularly special week, with two major awards recognising MD Support Centre’s leadership and impact.
Earlier in the week, our Chair of Trustees, Ruth Hereford, received an Outstanding Achievement Award from Muscular Dystrophy UK. She received the Richard Attenborough Award for Outstanding Achievement at the charity’s Stronger Together Awards. She received the honour for her leadership and role in the growth and development of MD Support Centre.
Ruth has helped shape the organisation for over a decade, as it evolved into the thriving charity it is today. Under Ruth’s leadership, we have grown to meet the needs of more people with muscular dystrophy and related conditions, while ensuring individual voices can be heard. Her commitment to ensuring everyone can access the right support sits at the heart of her leadership.
Ruth’s recognition reflects the lasting impact she has made on our organisation and community. We are deeply proud and honoured to see her contribution celebrated in this way.
