A central part of our charity is the people we support. We are committed to ensuring that service users’ voices are heard at every level of the organisation, and we believe one of the key strengths of the MD Support Centre is that it is led by people living with and affected by muscular dystrophy. The views of our service users are integral to the design and development of our services and support.

Launched in 2021, the MD Support Centre Focus Group is facilitated by our staff and provides a forum for current service users and carers to share their ideas, feedback and direction.

Focus Group members come together to help shape the ongoing development of our charity. This can include suggestions about new equipment, planning and launching Satellite Clinics and other services, or sharing fundraising ideas.

All service users are welcome. We have a scheduled quarterly meeting, but you are welcome to drop in whenever you can. There is no pressure to attend every session. If you would like to be more involved, you can also volunteer to help put ideas from the group into action. Your involvement is completely up to you, and you can give as much or as little time as works for you. We are always really glad to hear from and work alongside our service users.

The meetings take place quarterly and you will find details on our events page and in our newsletters.
