Ian has been involved with the Muscular Dystrophy cause for over 20 years. In 1998 his son, Ben, was diagnosed with Limb Girdle MD, Ben is now a service user at the MD Support Centre. Ian joined MDUK as a Trustee 21 years ago and served for many years as the Senior Independent Trustee. On stepping down in 2025, he was invited to become a Patron of the charity.

Through Ian’s role at MDUK, he has been closely involved in the development and success of MD Support Centre and he is delighted to be joining the board as a Trustee.

Ian is an experienced Non-Executive Chairman/Director with senior Human Resources experience. He currently sits on the board of three other organisations. He has run his own management consultancy business and his previous corporate experience included being Group HR Director of two FTSE 100 companies.
