
Jane Edwards Field
Jane is a founding trustee and Co-Lead Osteopath at the Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre. An experienced osteopath with more than 40 years in practice, she has worked across private practice, education, sport, multidisciplinary healthcare settings and the NHS.
Following her son Murray's diagnosis with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2005, Jane became a passionate advocate for people living with neuromuscular conditions. Alongside her husband, she established the charity Murray's Muscles and went on to help found the Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre to improve access to specialist physical therapies and support.
Jane has extensive expertise in neuromuscular disorders, chronic pain, breathing techniques, anxiety management and physical rehabilitation. She combines hands-on treatment with a holistic approach, drawing on a range of techniques including medical acupuncture and counselling approaches.
Her professional expertise, combined with her personal experience of muscular dystrophy, gives her a unique understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families living with neuromuscular conditions.
