We’re pleased to announce that our much-loved seated yoga class is relaunching as Mind, Body and Breathing, a gentle, chair-based class designed specifically for our service users.
The free, online class focuses on relaxing the mind and body through adapted movement, guided breathing, and simple mindfulness techniques. All exercises are carefully modified to be performed seated or in a supported position, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
Each session focuses on:
- Gentle, adapted upper and lower limb mobility to ease physical tension and reduce stiffness
- Postural awareness and supported alignment with focus on core strength
- Structured breathing exercises to regulate the nervous system and promote emotional balance
- Guided mindfulness and relaxation techniques to calm the mind and reduce stress
Reset your mind and body
A central aim of the class is to support mental wellbeing. Living with long-term physical conditions can often lead to increased stress, anxiety, low mood, and fatigue. Through controlled breathing and mindful awareness, the session helps activate the body’s relaxation response, encouraging a sense of safety, calm, and mental clarity.
All techniques are carefully adapted to individual ability and energy levels. They are simple, practical, and manageable, even on days when energy is low or symptoms feel overwhelming.
The class will give you tools that you can use every day to help reset your mind, ease physical tightness, and restore emotional balance without overexertion. This can be particularly helpful during stressful or tiring moments, helping you to boost your physical and emotional wellbeing.
The class is led by Rewati, an experienced physiotherapist and yoga instructor. With over 15 years’ experience, she brings a compassionate, holistic approach to every session. Her teaching is grounded in empathy, kindness, and a passion for helping people feel their best.
Delivered in a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment, the class encourages everyone to move at their own pace while feeling understood and empowered.
