New Year’s Message 2024

Dear Friend,

Happy New Year from MD Support Centre!

2023 was such a joyful, celebratory year for MD Support Centre. It was so wonderful to host more in-person social events to bring our local MD community together and celebrate the Charity’s 10th Anniversary Year (including our biggest ever Open Day, and celebration meals in Leicester, Birmingham/ Black Country, and Coventry), to get fully settled into our new Coventry home, and to continue to grow our team and services.
At the Charity we enter the New Year with continued energy to do more for more people with MD in the Midlands and beyond. Having piloted a new clinic location in Daventry with local charity Reach for Health, we are excited to formally launch that clinic in Spring 2024. We want to continue to grow our team and are currently recruiting for physiotherapists, complementary therapists, a physiotherapy assistant, fundraising assistant, and reception volunteers – so if you or someone you know would be interested in working with us, please let us know!
We are also busily planning for an inclusive and interactive events calendar throughout 2024, with in-person events (such as quarterly coffee mornings in each of our satellite locations, arts and craft sessions in Spring, and our Open Day event in Coventry on Saturday June 29th) and online informational and peer support sessions, the first of which will be on January 15th where will be joined by Dr Yvette Easthope-Mowatt (Neuromuscular Clinical Psychologist from The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry), to discuss key mental health themes. For full details and to register for all upcoming events please click hereIf you have an idea for an event or fundraiser, or if you would like to volunteer to help with organising a get-together, please contact us.

The last few years at MD Support Centre have been characterised by significant growth and change. As a small but ambitious charity, change will continue – but in 2024, we will also be taking stock to consolidate what we have achieved to date – reflecting on our strategy and how we want to deliver our mission over the next 5 years. As always, we invite service users and stakeholders to be a key part of that conversation – you can share your vital thoughts and feedback in our Annual Service User Survey (click  to access the survey), by joining our quarterly Steering/ Focus Group sessions (see our events page for dates and details) or by sharing your thoughts and feedback with us at any time by emailing:
As a small charity we succeed only because of the kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm of our amazing community of staff, volunteers, service users, carers, funders, and partners. On behalf of all of us at the Charity, a huge thank you to you all for your continued support for the Centre – and here’s to a wonderful 2024!
