Sponsored challenge

Take on a challenge, get sponsored, and help support people living with muscular dystrophy. Every pound raised helps fund our life specialist support services.

From accessible walks and wheeling challenges to cycling events, fun runs, virtual challenges, sponsored swims and even sponsored silences, there are plenty of ways to get involved. If you already have an event in mind, we’d love to support you. If not, you’ll find plenty of ideas below to help you get started.

Our fundraising team can help you choose an event, set up your sponsorship page, provide fundraising advice, and supply a branded running vest or T-shirt to help you spread the word.

Set up your sponsorship page

Creating an online sponsorship page is quick and easy using platforms like TotalGiving or JustGiving

Create your fundraising page

Create your fundraiser using an online platform such as TotalGiving or JustGiving

Personalise your page with a story about why you’re fundraising and some photos. This helps people to understand your cause and feel connected to your mission. And it can help you raise even more money.

=

Set a fundraising target

Having a fundraising target helps to motivate people to donate.

Don’t hesitate to increase your target if you reach it early, as this encourages additional donations.

=

Share your page

Share your page widely through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp to reach a broader audience. Remember that many friends and colleagues may not be on social media, so email your page or add it to your email signature to ensure everyone can see it.

=

Kickstart your fundraising

Making the first donation yourself can inspire others to give too. It shows you are committed to the cause and can help encourage others to follow your lead.

=

Keep your page updated

Remember to update your page to let your supporters know how you’re doing. Regularly adding progress, photos and milestones can help keep your supporters engaged. And don’t forget to keep sharing on your social media too!

=

Say thank you

Always thank your supporters, even after the event has passed. Showing appreciation helps your supporters know they’ve made a difference and can help increase last-minute donations.

=

Tell people how it went

Don’t forget to share your photos and updates from the day.

We’d love to hear from you too so we can share your success more widely and thank you for your support.
