Gary Evans
Gary Evans is both a passionate advocate and a long-standing service user of MD Support Centre. Diagnosed with muscular dystrophy ten years ago, Gary has been part of the Centre’s community for nine years, experiencing the life-changing impact of its therapies.
“What I love about MD Support Centre is the real, tangible impact it has on my condition and my quality of life,” he says. “After my therapy sessions, I feel a million times better – with noticeable improvements in my ability to walk and engage in physical activities.”
Gary’s professional background spans Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product Management, giving him a strong foundation in strategy and sustainable growth. He previously served as a trustee for an Academy, where he saw the difference good governance can make. Inspired by his experience and conversations with Chair of Trustees Ruth Hereford, Gary joined the board to give back to the Centre that has given him so much.
“I want to use my background as a service user and my professional skills to help guide MD Support Centre’s strategic direction,” he explains. “It’s an organisation that truly changes lives. My hope is to help it grow so even more people can experience the benefits I’ve felt.”
