Complementary Therapist

My career as a complementary therapist started in 2004 when I completed training as a Massage Therapist. In 2006 we relocated to the Midlands and my life took a detour following the birth of my second son and I spent the next 6 years working in the funded training sector.

Throughout this time I continued to train and in 2012 I graduated as a Clinical Reflexologist and started my own business. I continued to work part-time whilst building my business, training in additional advanced Reflexology techniques including Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) and further massage practices including Lymphatic Drainage Massage and Indian Head Massage alongside completing specialist training in Oncology, Palliative and End of Life Care and Scar Therapy.

In 2016 I left part-time employment to focus solely on my business. I feel passionately about the benefits complementary therapies can offer, and to ensuring people feel confident and are able to access them when they need them most. This led to me delivering complementary therapies to patients and carers for a Leicester based cancer charity for 3 years and joining LOROS Hospice as one of their bank Complementary Therapists.

I joined the MD Support Centre team in 2018. The dedication and passion of the whole team at the centre was so evident from the start. I love getting to know service users, their families and to have opportunity to work as part of such a talented multiskilled team. It is an absolute pleasure to be able to introduce people to therapies they have may not have had the opportunity to try before. Seeing the interest and number of service users accessing complementary therapy grow has been simply wonderful!
