MDSC remains open

Service User Update

MDSC remains open

As Coventry and Birmingham are announced to be under Tier 3 restrictions, coming into effect when the national lockdown comes to an end on Wednesday 2nd December, we would like to reassure you that the government guidance on healthcare services allows us to remain open and to continue to provide support to our service users at our Hereward College HQ, and our Birmingham Satellite at Acorns Children’s Hospice.

We have additional measures in place which ensure the safety of our service users and staff. The measures detailed below are designed to minimise the number of people you will come in to contact with during your visit and to reassure you that MD Support Centre is safe and Covid-Secure.

Testing

We have introduced regular weekly testing for our therapy team. The rest of the team will maintain strict social distancing or work remotely.

Reconfiguring Space at our Coventry HQ

We have converted our office space into private treatment areas, these are being used for weekday appointments instead of the shared therapy suite. Using this space along with our existing therapy room (located next to our reception) ensures that there is minimal contact between our service users and Hereward College staff and students during the week. The therapy suite will be used at weekends only, allowing us to isolate the room for the sole use of our service users.

Direct Access

Where we can, we have introduced more direct routes for you to access our treatment spaces. This will mean that you don’t have to go through Hereward College’s reception for example, when visiting us during the week.

We remain committed to supporting our Service Users and in addition to the continuation of our face-to-face therapies, we plan to stay connected online with digital resources and weekly classes and social events, so please keep an eye on our Facebook page for details of what’s coming up. You can also follow us on Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram for the latest news from the centre.

We will continue to assess the situation and update our measures and the services we offer accordingly. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us on 02476 100 770 or getintouch@mdsupportcentre.org
