Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary therapy which is based on the theory that specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body can be mapped to different points or areas on the feet, hands, ears, face or lower leg. For example on the foot the tips of the toes reflect the head, the heart and chest are around the ball of the foot, the liver, pancreas and kidney are in the arch of the foot and the lower back and intestines are towards the heel.
Reflexologists believe that through working these reflex points using a range of techniques they can stimulate the healing process and have an energetic effect within the body. Reflexology is known for being a very relaxing therapy and while this is of great value, it has many other therapeutic benefits too. Reflexology aims to restore health and vitality and stimulate a balanced flow of energy to all parts of the body through using effective techniques that will stimulate the healing process.

Here she tells us about her experience –
After working for a number of years in public sector management in both Public Health and Local Authority and leading on commissioning and strategic plans for children and young people, I decided it was time to make some personal changes after the birth of my second son. I wanted to have a better work and life balance and to do something more practical to help people by using my energy, spirituality and intuition in a rewarding and positive way.
I felt drawn to becoming a practitioner in complementary health and particularly interested in the science and wisdom behind reflexology from personal experience and awareness. I decided to go on a new journey of discovery and retrain as a Clinical Reflexologist.
